Da Nang is a coastal city located in the central region of Vietnam, where travelers can relax and visit many beautiful places. With all the beaches, islands, sea, hills and mountains, Da Nang city is always filled with fresh air, temperate climate.
For travelers, there are many historical and cultural sites in and around the beautiful city.
1. Son Tra Peninsula
The large Son Tra Peninsula is approximately 13km east from the center of Da Nang. This is a national park where many species of wild animals and plant varieties are preserved and fresh water is available. On the Son Tra Peninsula there’s a 4,370ha primeval forest. With the green of forest and the blue seawater, the Son Tra Peninsula is an attractive place for travelers.
On the Son Tra Peninsula, travelers can enjoy the fresh air and contemplate the wonderful natural landscape of this place, learning about the lives of local fishermen and enjoy various kinds of seafood.
2. Ngu Hanh Son mountain range
The Ngu Hanh Son mountain range (Marble Mountains) is not very far from the South of Son Tra Peninsula, which is a special attraction of the entire central region.
The Ngu Hanh Son ( five elements mountain) mountain range consists of six limestone mountains, each with its own name. In the 19th century, King Minh Mang ( Nguyen Dysnasty ), named the five mountains according to the five elements of nature:
– Kim Son ( Metal )
– Moc Son (Wood )
– Hoa Son ( Fire )
– Tho Son ( Earth)
– Thuy Son ( Water)
The Thuy Son is the most beautiful and largest.
Hoa Son is actually two small mountains, Duong Hoa Son and Am Hoa Son ( Yang Fire Mt and Yin Fire Mt) .
At Ngu Hanh Son, there is also a famous pagoda, named Chua Khong, and a cave named Tang Chon Cave. The Ngu Hanh Son mountains are adjacent to the Non Nuoc Beach.
3. Non Nuoc Beach
Non Nuoc Beach is one of the six most beautiful beaches in the world.
4. Ba Na Hills
Not far to the west of Da Nang is Ba na Hills. In this place, there are also old houses built in the French style, villas, restaurants and a modern cable car to take visitors from Vong Nguyet Hill to the highest mountain ( about 1,400m above the sea). From the top of this mountain travelers can gets a panorama view of Da Nang city.
At the top of Ba Na Hills, the weather keeps changing so that people can see and feel the four seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter, all within one day.
5. The Museum of Cham Sculpture
The Cham Museum located in the center of Da Nang, was built in 1915, is a favorite place by almost every travelers to the city. It preserves and has on display thousands of Cham sculptures that are from between the 17th and the 15th centuries. The Cham museum has over 300 sandstone and terracotta sculptures, which are masterpieces of Champa Art. The Champa Kingdom was believed to have been founded in 192 AD
